Today we would like to share feedback from ISMA Microsolutions INC, Montreal, Canada that was looking for a solution for creating and sharing COM ports that would work autonomously even after the restart of the computer, and tell how Serial to Ethernet Connector helped them to solve that problem after being incorporated into their work process.
Company industry: IT
ISMA Microsolutions INC is a company which specializes in an IT automation special project manager and provides GYM Membership software and hardware to many facilities.
Alex Taylor: What challenges made you search for this kind of software?
Ismael Morrissette: We are using USR-IOT controller along with their VCOM application. VCOM creates virtual com port that connects with their TCP serial interface. VCOM doesn’t work as a service. It’s limited to the desktop and users can accidentally shut them down.
Alex Taylor: How did you get to know about our software?
Ismael Morrissette: We were looking for a much more stable solution that works as a service to connect our TCP Controllers.
Alex Taylor: Did you try any similar product(s) before coming across ours?
Ismael Morrissette: No, Serial to Ethernet Connector was our first choice.
Alex Taylor: Why did you choose our product over competitors? What made it stand out for you?
Ismael Morrissette: The product is just simple and well designed.
Alex Taylor: How did you benefit from using our solution?
Ismael Morrissette: We can reboot the computer and the virtual COM port works like any other COM port.
Alex Taylor: Are you happy with our software at this point? Why or why not?
Ismael Morrissette: Yes, because there is no maintenance and unexpected shutdown.
Alex Taylor: Do you feel our prices are: high – about right – low?
Ismael Morrissette: I would say that the price is rather high.
Alex Taylor: Has our customer support system met your needs?
Ismael Morrissette: We did not need to contact customer support, everything is working as it should.
We’d like to thank Ismael Morrissette, a CEO of ISMA Microsolutions INC for participating in our survey and giving us an opportunity to share this use case with our readers.
